Magician on international television

Willi Auerbach is a German magician and illusionist. His stage act — built around the FLYING ILLUSION, a full levitation — has been broadcast in prime time in the United States, Italy and France, as well as on the German networks ZDF, SWR and RTL. The complete recordings are below.

For broadcasters and producers: the act is self-contained, works without dialogue, and can be adapted to the running time and staging of a given format.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us — The CW, USA

Willi Auerbach and his stage partner Elena performed the FLYING ILLUSION for Penn & Teller on The CW. The format invites magicians to fool the two Las Vegas headliners with a live performance in front of a studio audience. The episode aired in April 2021. German television

On ZDF, Auerbach performed live with presenter Carolin Reiber in the network’s Sunday-evening music show in 2004, watched by 6.8 million viewers. SWR featured him twice: as a guest on the guessing show Sag die Wahrheit in 2019, and in a report on SWR Aktuell about his second place at the German Championship of Magic. RTL recorded his prediction illusion for Guten Abend RTL. These programs are in German.

Booking for television

Magic for camera needs a different framework than magic for a live audience. The stage illusion show is built for clean sightlines and can be cut to the running time of a format. Because Auerbach designs and builds his own props, effects can also be developed specifically for a production. He performs worldwide, and the act carries across language markets without dialogue.

The signature effect is the FLYING ILLUSION, a full levitation. A further example of the act on camera: magic show on TV
